Skip and Loafer Episode 1 Review | This Anime About a Village Girl is Good

Skip and Loafer is a manga series written and illustrated by Misaki Takamatsu. It has been serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon since August 2018. It follows a girl named Mitsumi Iwakura, who is on top of her class. Ever since she was young, she always dreamt of leaving her small town, which she did at the age of 15. But, she is always so indulged in studies that she don't know how to interact with others. Follow this girl's journey on making positive changes in the world and also, making friends.

Short Synopsis

The episode starts with Mitsumi in sis Nao's apartment, planning for the day. She leaves her place to go to school and she hopes that nothing bad will happen and everything will go smoothly (raised a red flag right here).

But, life isn't this easy, and on her very first day, she got lost and was almost late for her entrance ceremony. However, she met a boy who was also late, and he accompanies her in reaching school. She reaches school just at time and manages to deliver the speech given to her. However, the bad luck is still lurking around. She pukes out of anxiety... on her homeroom teacher's new dress.

And, just like this, her "perfect" plan for her first day got ruined terribly. However, she still manages to make two friends; the boy who helped her and the girl sitting behind her.

Personal Opinion:

The anime is looking quite good to me, and the plot is good too. Art style is also good. Not many characters were introduced in the first episode, and we can guess that this anime will look into the life of a small village girl trying to adjust in a big city. Overall, it's good, you should give a try too. I can't say much about future episodes but this one looked good.
