Episode Summary
The episode starts with Akane sitting in a café with her boyfriend, Takuma, and about to get dumped. He tells Akane that he met a girl that he likes and that she likes him too. Akane then understood the reason for Takuma seeming distant lately.
After they finally broke-up, Akane is seen talking with her classmate about the situation. She explained everything to her. After some time, her friend leaved and Akane, still furious, logs in to the game, Forest of Savior, which started it all.
As she is letting her anger out by killing some monster, another player with a Noh Mask and an Afro appears and says hello, Akane quickly replies. This player turned out to be Akane's guildmate. One thing which annoyed Akane even more was that this player took very long time to reply.
Soon, Akane opens up to him, telling him about her situation. But, he isn't interested in her chit-chatting, rather the hunting ground. Akane logs out of the game. Some time later, she learns about the game event which was to take place nearby. Akane was sure that her ex-boyfriend would attend the event too, and she saw it as an opportunity to make him regret his decision. With her friend, she went to various stores to buy clothes.
She reaches the event and there was Takuma too, with his new girlfriend. Upon seeing Takuma, she calls out to him, however, he doesn't notice it. She runs after him, but trips midway and loses her shoe (Cinderella moment!). Takuma is stll busy with his new girlfriend.
One specific guy notices her, and asks her if she's alright and hands her the shoe.
During their short conversation, he uses the same phrase as the afro guy. Akane asks him if he's Yamada, and he stops midway and asks how she knows him. Takuma notices Yamada and runs up to him, ignoring the existence of Akane. As it turns out, Yamada is a well-known professional gamer, who even Takuma admires. Takuma finally notices Akane, and Akane who is still mad at him calls Yamada her new boyfriend, to make him jealous.
After this, Akane and Yamada are seen in a restaurant. Akane is really sad by Takuma's behavior and is about to cry.
She goes to the bathroom. When she returns, Yamada is not there, this made Akan even more sad. She finally bursts into tears, but then Yamada returns with a band-aid. He noticed Akane's scrap earlier and was worried for her. Yamada then proceeds to apply band-aid on her foot.
Akane is elated by Yamada's this behavior and tells him to eat to more.
The next scene, Akane wakes up seemingly naked in a bed, which wasn't hers. She then notices Yamada playing video games in the same room.
Personal Opinions
Personally, the starting of this anime is pretty good. I rarely enjoy the first episode of the anime. Filled with lots of feels, emotions and humor, this one was pretty good and enjoyable. Akane is really funny with her funny reactions. This episode was a BANGER. If you're a rom-com enjoyer like me, then you should definitely check this series out.
